Ask The Noodle: Plenty O' Fish

Updated: Aug 1, 2023

Dear Noodle.

I met an amazing guy. Can you already tell where this is going? Should I detail his questionable occupation? Perhaps make mention that he only texts me when he's drunk, or on the job? Our only 'date' was undoubtedly booze fueled, and the look of regret that found his face at the end of our tryst still haunts me. Oh. Don't forget! He's got a girlfriend.

Do I tell her, or is it best she simply finds out eventually on her own?

Better yet, Noodle, do I keep my hooks in, or do I look to the rest of the city for a more available and reciprocative fish?

Sincerely,

SidePieced

Dear SidePieced,

The plague of mentally and emotionally unavailable men in this city is staggering and it is a battle I think most women that actually like dick are facing.

Let me preface this by saying that any energy you put out there is what you will receive in return. What does this mean? It means that if you are feeling hurt and spiteful and put his personal business out there to others that will return to you. Do you really want that drama in your life? In the end, none of that matters.

I think that often in life we feminine folk tend to internalize pain. He is not giving you the attention you feel you deserve or reciprocating your love language back to you, so what do you do? The same thing I do and millions of other females tend to do.... SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH US! Right? WRONG.

Ok, so how do you deal with it? You can either find peace in what you do get and enjoy him when you have him, or you can walk away and search for a man that is available and open to your attention and affections. Settling for a man because you feel he is the only one you are going to get is never the healthy option, amazing or not.

Should you tell the girlfriend? Absolutely not. It is not yours to tell and hoping or wishing to destroy another woman to try and get a man that is not worthy of EITHER of you is silly. If more women fixed each other's crowns instead of trying to rip them off their heads the world would be a better place.

A very wise woman by the name of Maya Angelou once wrote, "Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option." If he just wants to use you when he's drunk, well you can use him when you want dick just as easily. Or, move on and let go.

Noodle saying #72: "Don't settle for being a side bitch. If you ain't the only bitch then you a dumb bitch."

I hope this helps, even if only a little. Good luck out there SidePiece and if you ever need your crown fixed you come see the Noodle.

ASK THE NOODLE ANYTHING!
