Pit Stop boars: OHPD deny involvement

By Venus Mari Zapedzki

The OHPD have strongly denied that police officers were involved in releasing boars into the Pit Stop during Karaoke Night.

Captain Kane, OHPD Chief, denied an an allegation received by the Chronicle, that a female police officer was seen assisting a man to unload the boars from a trailer.

The allegation, along with three photographs, came in an anonymous email to the Chronicle. According to the email, the cruiser arrived at the Pit Stop some ten minutes before the trailer containing the boars, and the police officer stood outside the bar smoking. When the trailer appeared, it seemed as if the driver of the vehicle knew the officer, as he opened the trailer door for her to enter.

According to the email, the officer became enmeshed with one of the boars, and, while three of the animals rushed freely into the bar, this fourth dragged the officer in with it.

According to the email, one of the boars killed another (picture shown above). A second boar was shot, and, in line with the police statement previously reported, two boars escaped. The email says that two women were injured, one seriously - again in contradiction to the police statement - and one only moderately.

The email does, however, seem to confirm general suspicions that the two boars shot on the streets of Onyx Heights the following day were the two boars that escaped.

The photographs below are alleged to be of the cruiser involved. The license plate is not visible.

Captain Kane insisted that the officer in question was helping "a poor citizen get their cattle together".
